The Just good dog's assistant
It started just over 6 months ago, my thoughts were of doing more for my faithful mutt, Obi. I had survived a very dark period in my life, ill health, divorce, moving home. I felt apprehensive going it alone, one important thing was to make friends and have a social life again, not only for myself, but for Obi too.
Pete in Action at Chubby Chops
For several weeks, I searched the internet looking for like minded people who loved their dogs just as crazily as I love mine. I found a few dog groups on the social networking site, Meetup. One of the groups I found was called "All shapes and sizes" a group of dog lovers who meet at Preston Park once a month.
Obi and Mavis, who is also a boy.
since joining this group myself and Obi's life has took a very positive turn. The members of the group were extremely friendly and they welcomed us both with open arms, in the dogs case, open paws. we felt like we were part of a family and I was often counting down the days to the next meet up.
Obi spots a quiche transforming it into slobber pie.
I was able at last to meet Pete and Casey for the first time. We hit it off immediately. Obi loved running around enjoying the freedom of the park playing with his new buddies.
Little did I know, I was being watched!
By August I got a call from Pete asking me if I would help him out with his business. Just good dogs, as an assistant!
I am so grateful to Pete for this opportunity to educate myself and further my skills.

I joined after the first week of a bronze class, or as Pete says just getting them to sit and take notice its a lot harder than you think, but his clean, caring and gentle approach really does work wonders even with the most stubborn of dogs.

One of the first dogs I met was Lennie a puppy who not only was taking the bronze class, but was also having private one on one lessons with Pete. In the space of a few weeks he was turning in to a delightful, playful and loving a doggy that felt part of a pack.
We make a good partnership, his understanding of dogs and their ways really shows in his body language and aura. It is clear when you watch him that he loves what he does. Pete is committed to working with these dogs and getting them to their very best for their owners.
